Below is our weekly update covering landcare activities, upcoming events and funding presented on Landcare’s weekly segment with Anne Delaney on Riverina ABC Breakfast Radio live from ~6.40am on Thursday mornings.

 

2016-17 Riverina Local Land Services Community Grants program launched this week

The Community Grants are aimed at supporting community and industry groups to carry out on-ground, capacity building, educational and other activities with a natural resource management (NRM) and sustainable landscapes focus.

Grant funding up to a maximum of $20,000 is available for eligible activities.

Applications will be accepted from incorporated community and industry groups who have the majority of their group members within the Riverina Local Land Services region.

COMING SOON: The Community Landcare ‘Pop-up’ Grants Program coordinated by Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc. aims to support Landcare and community groups in the Riverina Local Land Services area to promote community-driven natural resource management.  Groups are invited to apply for a grant of up to $2,000 (GST exclusive) to undertake projects and activities that encourage the involvement of community groups in understanding, protecting and enhancing the natural environment.  A total of $25,000, on a competitive basis, is available each year for three years (2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19).

Applications open: Monday 19 September 2016 Applications close: Sunday 30 October 2016. Guidelines  – Application form – further details will be posted on the Murrumbidgee Landcare website.
